Canada Post Strike & Christmas Shipping Policy
Thank you so much for considering Salt & Paper as a holiday gift, or just something special for yourself. As you may have heard, Canada Post is currently in the midst of a nationwide strike, and this is affecting packages coming to and from Canada (which is where I reside.)
Luckily, I have alternate shipping options to consider. Here is how your package will be shipped:
Canada Post Strike Policy
*** CANADIANS ***
Cards/Stickers/Magnets - Purchases under $35 will be held until the strike ends, I will ship them at that time via lettermail with Canada Post. Purchases over $35 will receive tracked shipping with ChitChats and will dispatch immediately.
Stamps/Stamp Kits - Shipping on time with tracked shipping with ChitChats
*** AMERICANS & INTERNATIONAL ***
All Items - Shipping on time with tracked shipping with ChitChats
What is ChitChats?
ChitChats is a Canadian based shipping company that consolidates packages and brings them over the border to the USPS system. All packages get USPS postage and either stay within the US, go International, or are brought back over the border with a Canadian partner like UPS/Purolator/Canpar etc, they do not go into the Canada Post system.
Christmas Shipping Policy
DEADLINE FOR HOLIDAY ORDERS is 7th DECEMBER.
Any orders placed after this time will be made as quickly as possible, but it may not arrive before Christmas (especially with the aforementioned postal strike.
When you place an order with my shop, I do my VERY best to fulfill it as soon as possible (especially around the holidays.) If you require something for Christmas as a gift, please inform me in your order or by emailing me at hello@saltandpaper.ca
Holiday themed items will no longer be sold after December 6th to avoid the disappointment of them arriving late.
Most packages (with the exception of cards/stickers/magnets) come with tracking. I cannot guarantee a Christmas delivery, even with tracking. Once the item is in the mail, there isn't anything I can do to speed it along or prevent shipping delays due to surges of Christmas packages in the postal system.
In the event that your package arrives late for Christmas, here are your options:
1) I can provide you with a certificate that you can gift that informs the receiver that there have been postal delays and describes the item that is coming to them (with pictures as well)
2) If the item is custom, it is not refundable. If the item is not custom (ie it does not feature a portrait, custom name, address etc), you can return it to me for a full refund once I receive it. Return postage is not included.
